Oakura

The village of Oakura is pretty small yet rated for its Arts & Crafts and wonderful food.

A few places of interest are Art by the Sea, a wonderful little shop and gallery, The Crafty Fox, a great outlet for arts, crafts and other NZ goodies. Ringcraft Moanna Jewellers is awesome if you are on the lookout for that special piece of jewellery.  For more of our local artists check out the Oakura Arts Trail website.

Dining options include Butlers Reef Bar & Café if you want a quiet drink (or two) and maybe a bar snack or how about dinner in the evening? For something different why not try our very popular Lemonwood Eatery nestled between the Four Square and Butlers Reef, Vegan/Vegetarian/Awesome! for lunch or dinner.  Across the road is the High Tide Cafe, which is always busy with the locals for coffee and snacks.  If you just fancy fish & chips on the beach, the Oakura Fish Shop is just a bit further along past the BP station. Down at the beach is the ever popular Black Sand Pizzeria & Bistro where you can get a traditional wood-fired Naples style pizza ... bookings advised as they are always busy.  During the summer months there is of course the Holy Guacamole caravan serving delicious, fresh Mexican food.  So much yummy food and not enough time!

For anything Surfing including sunnies & shorts, why not visit Vertigo situated below the Boardriders down on the beach front ... another place to grab a great coffee as well!
